But with The Mostess and I tied at one win each, I had to soldier on and produce a mind-blowing Bountiful Harvest display.
You MAY recognize some of the raw elements--the composition however is new and glorious to behold.

I worked hard at creating levels and flow. That corn is local--as in from the cornfield across the street from my house!
Don't worry, I paid for it--both with cash and the crazy rash I got hauling that stuff out of my car.
Okay here's The Mostess's display:The Mostess has a three-part display. Part one:
Mostess Part One.
Not bad, not bad. Before I show you part two, you must know that the Mostess came over with a birthday present for me (birthday post to come!) and chatted me up. I got swept up in the moment and, due to the gifting, felt obligated to offer her my leftover corn stalks! They show up here in her Part Two:
Let's not forget the Hooty Bird I gave her last month. I'm an idiot! He shows up (in disguise) in Part Three:
Her display is definitely bountiful. I'll give her that. A bit sprawling perhaps. You'll notice a cornucopia in her Part Three. I decided cornucopias are played and went with a whimsical pumpkin turkey instead:
The Mostess does not trust the voice of the people to crown the Display-Off winner. So we have a panel of five judges who are going to cast the final votes. Still, I'd love to hear what you think! Who out-displayed the other? Let's put this thing to rest once and for all!

You're cracking me up with all of this.
My house is the opposite of festive this year. All the things I usually do (like send birthday good mail, ahem) have gone to pot because of work. I need to get myself together.
Gotta say, I do dig the turkey. You two are the only people I know decorating for Thanksgiving, aside from their dinner tables anyway. My finger painted pumpkins are still on the stoop, though since their natural spiderwebs and bugs are still left over from Halloween we probably just look like the lame-os who leave their Christmas lights turned on until Valentine's Day.
You never fail to lose in my book with the tasteful and minimalistic look. But you two need to GET OVER IT! ;) Before this whole competition turns into a Mean Girls-style fiasco!
HA! I love the turkey pumpkin and I love the pilgrim hat on Kaari's owl! I laughed out loud. Not LOL, though, because I don't do that. Laughed out loud.
Oh, and my pile-of-pumpkins-in-an-old-suitcase are still outside my door. My Halloween display lasted about a day until Graham decided it was fun to throw all the pumpkins in the suitcase every time he walked by. So that's where they stayed.
I seriously need you to live next door, offer decorating tips for my dismal front porch, and then send the boys off to play while we chat and laugh the day away. And bring the Mostess along...I think I'd like her too!
Less is more, in your case I believe you win. She did use two of your items in her display. And you turkey is very creative. You go girl!
Whoa, whoa, whoa Jan and Colleen. I'm from Iowa. That corn was going to be in my display whether or not it came from Ashley's castoff pile. And less is only more in the case of perfume and makeup, not holiday displays!
Minimalistic=poor effort.
Bwahahaha to my "display" comprised solely of scarecrows. I can hardly wait to bring them against next September, much to everyone's dismay.
As always, Hooty is a hit. He is SO flippig cute, even nestled in his little crate for warmth.
The corn is cute, and a must for the fall season.
Your use of height and width is impressive for such a small space. The different levels with different elements is adorable and on point as always.
Thankfully, the corn had dried by the time I carted it home, and I avoided the lice-like side effects.
Jan and Colleen have great taste and should be included in the panel of judges!
The benefit of the kitchen sink approach is that there's something for everyone. Hooty with a pilgrim hat? That's brilliant. You throw up enough stuff and something is bound to stick.
Where are the official judges?? It's not like we're not paying them good money to show up and cast a vote! Oh, wait...
Tyler: the kitchen sink approach is much better than the old "recycle the same stuff and call it something new" bit Ashley does so well.
Love them both! My faves are "hooty in the hat" and the turkey pumpkin. Ash, did you make that turkey? I'm astounded at your creativity. Who knew?? (starting with the balloon flowers last spring.)
I'm afraid to comment now that Kaari said I am her favorite Warner.
I am going to be honest and say I like yours better. She definately has more...and it is more spread out but I like the different levels with yours and the creativity with the wreath and the turkey pumpkin.
I do like Hooty in the pilgrim hat at Kaari's and she gets points for the amount of stuff.
My vote (that doesn't count) goes to Ashley.
And mom,
Unless Ashley has gotten into welding/metal working without our knowlege, there is no way she made that turkey!!
Rex is my new favorite Warner.
Mostess, trash talking aside, this is your best display yet. Nice job.
Ashley, you should never have given her that owl. Of course, how could you have known that she'd figure out how to use it? Dumb luck.
Correction: part one and three are your best work yet.
I'm with Jill. This is all hilarious, your post is hilarious, and the sparring is hilarious.
I have no idea how these so-far anonymous judges are making their decisions, but I don't envy them. These two displays are quite similar, and both are spectacular.
For me, your true PDR are those lanterny thingies that you fill with such great stuff, and that I covet. (Where did you get them? I'm copying your idea and have already stocked up on Halloween candy for next year.)
Tyler, that can't be. I won a badge for round two! A badge!!!
I am one of the judges selected by Ashley C. and The Mostess. I couldn't fit my vote in the comment box, so you'll have to go here to see it:

Ashley--
I just wanted to say kudos to for your concession speech following the Display-Off. For some reason, losing to Kaari seems to bring out the best in you--or at least the funny.
Maybe you should just shoot for #2 in future since your comments following the Bountiful Harvest and Spooktacular Dispay-Offs really are comedy gold!
I feel a little like that judge in Happy Gilmore, except that I would have to award you full points for your comment because we are all smarter (not dumber) for having read your insanely funny, non-rambling, coherent, yet witty responses following the Display-Offs.

Anyway, thank you for being so gracious even in defeat. It was fun to be able to judge the displays and it really was a difficult decision.
Happy Thanksgiving!
