Hoo . . . Hoo: YOU. After an outpouring of requests (four) to join in the Display-Off, The Mostess and I cordially invite you to join us for this special event.
What: The Display-Off Part 2:
SPOOKTACULAR SPECTACULAR!
How: If I can figure out how to do it, I'll use Mr. Linky so you can post pictures of your display on your blog, then link them up with my post on the 17th. (If you want to do it but don't have a blog, you can email me pictures.) Then everyone can check out the displays and weigh in in the comments. I recommend a thick skin and a piece de resistance.
Why: Because everyone's always complaining that blogging is a big competition, so lets give the people what they want. But most importantly, to out-cute or out-spook The Mostess. I happen to know she has plans to handcraft her own PDR and it's gonna be lifesize. Use this info to spur yourself on to Display Greatness.
RSVP: In the comments. Or just show up for the party.

YES!!!!! You KNOW I'm in! And I have a secret weapon. Lu arrives tomorrow. We will do a joint entry.
I'm prepared to BA-RING it!!
You are ALL going DOWN!
Let the Spooktacular-ness begin!!!
Does the inside count? My mantle decorations look awesome!
Does it have to be on the porch? I am opposed to outdoor decor...a classy wreath withstanding.
Uhhh can I join? I can be the cheap, total DIY entrant that everybody laughs at but secretly feels sorry for.
The problem is, my apartment could NEVER look cute and classy (interior or exterior). I live in a piece-a-trash dump. It's definitely spooky. Oh well, gotta let the creative genius take over!
I'm totally entering the contest. I have spider webs, AU NATURAL for days, a bunch of scary looking shoes and a bunch of dead flowers.
You know we're all officially OLD since we're discussing porch displays right? But really, I'm jelly cats. Poor Maisie Lou has an entirely un-festive house. Poor little girl.
Kristine and Brooke, I don't see any way to maintain the integrity of the Display-Off if we open it up to any interior decor. I have to say it should only be porches/doorsteps. You can appeal this decision to The Mostess.
However, I have a Halloween-decorated shelf that would BLOW YOUR MINDS so if one of you wants to host an indoor display-off, I will enter, and most likely, win.
Brooke, if you have a classy wreath and a few pumpkins, all you need is a PDR and you have yourself a display.
Jenny, I would LOVE to have a dumpy college apartment in the Display-Off!
Lenessa--"jelly cats"--awesome.
Like anyone would beat my Spooky Village in the best indoor display category?? Please.
Let's keep it to the outside displays for the voting, but feel free to pass along cute pics of your indoor stuff. I like making the rules up as we go along.
Brooke--I do not understand what just came out of your mouth. And don't trust Ashley--you can't throw up five things and a PDR, and call it a win. Ain't happening. I have 5 bins ready to go. And, yes, my lifesize homemade PDR will kill it!!
I can't wait to mock Jennifer. And Lenessa. And Ashley.
Fine, fine fine, outside only. Louis has me on a budget so my DIY juices are flowing through the brain.
Brooke, maybe you should try to make your own Halloween owl for the PDR. Feel free to add some hay bales and scarecrows too.
You are killing me! You are so funny! My kids and I had already made the goal of making a great Halloween display out front so I will go ahead and join in, too.
My porch display consists of a "Gruesome Greeter" a few bones scattered about, and a newly acquired ginormous blow-up pumpkin on the lawn. Not worthy of an entry into your stylish competition, but I will certainly check back to weigh in on the displays!
This is all making me laugh. I spent my weekend shopping all the antique shops in town for some crates (yep copycat). If I can come up with some unique ideas the next couple of weeks I may just have to throw in an entry.
If I can get my act together (unpack my house) before the 17th I'm totally in. I purposely spent an extra $8,000 on a front porch just to put a hay barrel on it for fall each year!
Im in!! Also, if people post their photo entry on top of their blog post, i dont see why there cant be some indoor decor shots as well. I would love to see your mantles and shelves and leave comments... So please do post those for my benefit!
There is no way I will ever be able to join in this spooktacular spectacular but you know I'll gonna give my opinion! This is the best idea.
So sad I did not get time to join this )o:
Too many photosessions and kids off of school for two weeks did me in. Can't wait to see it though!
